JERSEY FRIED TOMATOES
[MARCO ISLAND, FLORIDA, FEBRUARY 2018] Sisbarro Acting Studio is proud to that announce the Premier of Jersey Fried Tomatoes! Sponsored by BeautyDermaPro,the original theatre production written and directed by award-winning Marco Island resident, Gina Sisbarro, will be performed at Marco Island Charter Middle School March 29th-31st, 2019. Set at the gates of heaven where three women will be judged by the decisions they made as teens in the 1950’s, the play challenges social norms and captures the hearts of attendees who will undoubtedly identify with at least one of the characters. Will the pearly gates be opened to these ground-breaking ladies or will their paths lead elsewhere? You’ll have to see it to find out.
Gina Sisbarro, the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts Artist of the Year award winner for 2018, directed the original production The Men of Rushmore and Their Wives and premiered the show at the Rose Auditorium in the summer of 2016. Her second original production, Battle of Brotherhood, also premiered at the Rose Auditorium in spring of 2017. Gina is premiering her newest work Jersey Fried Tomatoes in spring 2019. Gayle Thawley stated in her introduction of Gina to the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts “Gina Sisbarro has been a contagious inspiration passing on creativity to countless hundreds of young and old alike for over 25 years.”
Unmeasurable dedication to the arts is what pushes Gina, day in and day out. Originally writing her own plays, she runs summer camps with the YMCA for theatre and an after-class theater club at the Marco Island Middle School. Her compelling work shines as she brings more light onto the local art in the Marco Island community.
